Better charge battery packs

For the remote control boats, there are very different types of battery used, however this should all be charged according to the rules.

NiCd-/NiMH battery provides a constant current. This lies at about 10% of the capacitance value (C * 0.1). The charging time is standard about 14 -16 hours. When a high charging current is required, a minus-delta-voltage switch-off (analysis of the voltage drop of the load curve) or a voltage gradient switch-off (analysis of the second voltage increase at the end of the charging curve) is possessed. The changes are strongly dependent on voltage of the battery temperature and NiCd batteries are about twice as strong as with NiMH batteries. The normative end voltage discharged at 1 V / cell and the maximum voltage at the end of discharge must not be lower than 0.7 V / cell.

These batteries are initially loaded with a constant current. This is for Li-poly batteries approx. 1C  and for LiIo battery packs it is about 0.2 C. The maximum charging voltage for Li-poly battery packs is 4.2 V / cell and it must be precisely maintained. In LiIo batteries, the maximum charging voltage is 4.1 V / cell. The batteries are being charged when the charge current at the maximum charging voltage to a minimum depending on the capacity is decreased. The limit value of the voltage at the end of discharge is achieved at 2.7 V / cell. Lithium polymer is abbreviated by LiPo, abbreviation Li-poly. Lithium ion is abbreviated by LiIo, abbreviation for Li-ion.

For RC boats, these batteries are recharged like LiIo or LiPo batteries. The maximum charging voltage is 3.7 V /cell and it is also held to an accuracy of ± 1%. The charging current can be considerably higher than 1C. The maximum allowable discharge end voltage is 2.5 V / cell. Lithium iron phosphate is abbreviated.

How Does An Electric Model Helicopter?

To give an idea how to build an electric model remote control helicopter is a global distribution of parts and their functions:
Broadly speaking, this construction is the same for all electro with a single main rotor helicopters. In addition to the transmitter to the whole to be able to control the chopper consists essentially of the following components:
Receiver, Servos, Battery, Motor Control, Electric Motor, Gyro

Tail rotor:
The tail or chopping rotor roughly consists of the accumulated harvester rotor with heck rotor blades.

Main Rotor:
This roughly consists of the main shaft built: Swashplate, rotor wheel with paddles – pitch compensator, main rotor head with blades

A helicopter does not fly itself. As above all be seen flying a model helicopter is not self.
As a layman may seem that being a little spinning rotor quickly yields a good flying helicopter. However, by thinking a little further you soon came to the conclusion that for such a helicopter flying well and certainly not least well controlled to get a little more is needed. To give an idea, here is an overview of what is so and to such a model helicopter is. In order to give an idea how it works, there is a bit to describe that an insight arises from the whole and its functionality. It starts with the fact that a helicopter can be steered in any direction. The steering of the helicopter is controlled with the responses to the control systems.

It requires some exercises to stick with a transmitter perform then the signal is transmitted to the helicopter transmission system to make the movement. When controlling the movement e.g. reels (left-right) or pitch (high-low) by separating single channel brake from the regulation of the height, you note that this exercise takes place by controlling the pitch (more on this later), and not by controlling the motor speed. The RC boats also work on some of same rules.

Information On Remote Control Helicopter

The number of channels on the transmitter that is needed to fly a remote control helicopter varies slightly in composition as a starting point, but should soon think of at least six channels to not get into trouble. It is then considered separately regulate engine speed and gyro sensitivity on the transmitter.

Function of the transmitter:
The transmitter converts the steering movements of the stick on the transmitter to a combined electrical signal and sends it out. The number of "channels" on a channel determined how many different possibilities. For each to control movement is a channel requires and in the channel, these channels are combined into a single signal, which is then emitted.

The modern channels are becoming more extensive in possibilities. In the control software of the transmitter is increasingly software settings can be programmed, which in the past in a mechanical way to stand to come. Consider for example the combination of steering movements, so that a movement more things at once can be controlled.

It is also sometimes possible to have multiple models (rc boats or helicopters) each station in the store and through a menu to choose a model, which then only one transmitter is needed for several models. When flying in the Netherlands relevant to safety in the 35 MHz band a number of channels available specifically designed to model flying. The 40 Mhz band is more generally meant for all models not only flying and is increasingly being used for the 2.4 Ghz model control.

The layout of the steering on the transmitter:
The classification of these maneuvers on the transmitter are many ways be classified and are a bit depending on how someone this self as useful experience. Usually it is based on a number of "standard" formats to choose from is to keep everything a little universal.  They are expressed in so-called "stick mode".

Basic Information On RC Helicopter Flying

Function of the receiver:
The receiver picks up the transmitted by the transmitter electrical signal to split this up for the different "channels" or steering movements and displays them on to servos that the movement is paired. If one wants so that all channels on the transmitter to be used, there must be at the receiver is at least as many outputs servo present.
Function of the servo:
The servo set by the receiver to provide control signal into a mechanical movement, which then can be coupled to a control function on the remote control helicopter. In this helicopter, four servos used for the helicopter to control one for the tail to control, and three for the main rotor movement to be controlled. Also on one of the outputs of the servo motor controller directly to the recipient is closed for controlling the electric motor.

Function of the battery:
The battery is used in rc boats for power supply of the electric and sometimes depending on the type of motor controller and size of the battery for the steam supply to the receiver, servos and gyro. If the latter is the case you need a motor controller is provided with a so-called BEC (Battery Elimination Circuit) later find more. The battery consists of a number of interconnected cells of nominally 1.2 volts per cell, when using a Nickel cadmium or nickel metal hydride battery. Case of a lithium polymer battery is the cell voltage at 3.7 volts nominal.

The number of cells connected in succession determines the total voltage of the battery. The amount of current that the battery can deliver is expressed in mili ampere per hour (mAh) or ampere hour (Ah), (1 Ampere is equal to 1000 mA), which is the maximum current that the battery can be used for 1 hour to make.

Nitro Engine Fuel Adjustment For RC tanks

The problem in nitro engine occurs when the motor gets too much fuel, and because the fuel along with the amount of lubricant is determined (this is in the fuel are mixed), the engine is also sufficient lubrication. If the engine is very stroke, you can see the main jet one notch further tap, so the engine just does not stroke, and the RC ranks will run a little harder. Ideal for the life of the engine is that it does not wind stroke, and with the wind just starts to simmer to full speed. Now the engine further closes the motor by turning over a short time a little bit harder, and then turn with a slap down, usually it means the end of the motor! Input of the engine (from idle driving away) is governed by the pickup nozzle which is in some engines on the throttle and where the ball head of the gas bar is fixed whether there is opposite to the side of the main engine. It controls so the air / fuel adjustment for idle and low rpm. If you turn it counterclockwise, the engine will get slightly more fuel during throttle (richer), right it gets a little less (poorer).

Usually you can make Ferrari diecast car better if you have made somewhat less, but you should experiment with it. Rotate the nozzle needles at a time with no more than 30 degrees. Look counterclockwise phenomenon that improves or deteriorates, and determine whether it should run you a little farther side or the other to go. If the motor stalls, the idle is adjusted. Door turning it into the motor (with throttle) run faster, turn him out, then he slowed. Adjust it in such a way that the engine continues to run easily.  Too warm glow plug cause fast break, and the risk of damage to the engine is bigger. Too cold glow plug cools too quickly when the engine is not taxed.

Using brushed and brushless motors for Lamborghini Diecast Models

There are two types of motors used in small remote control toys and here is a small guidance to decide among them.

Brushed motors
These are two-phase motors (two wires) that run on DC power whose speed can be controlled with both a mechanical and an electronic controller (they have two incoming wires + - and two outgoing wires + - wires). You can use all the current sources with an adequate or appropriate the necessary voltage and current.
Brushed motors have more maintenance and can wear sensitive (worn brushes). It is important that you have a motor with brushes for a few battery charges load retract. Motors with brushes are not replaced under the warranty in Lamborghini diecast models. It is recommended that you forward if you drive a car where a brushed motor is not directly to reverse and vice versa. Brake to stop the car first.

Brushless motors (brushless)
These are three phase motor (having three wires) operating on alternating current of which the speed of the pulses (frequency) is controlled by an electronic speed controller by using direct voltage a three phase alternating voltage (they have two incoming wires + -, and three outgoing AC wires). Because the pulses closer to or further from each other (accelerate or decelerate) the motor will run faster or slower, these pulses are generated by the controller in the "FETs". Most controls are useful for multiple voltages usable voltages and currents will be allowed always mention the controller.

On the both engine types in RC tanks, it will always take in the maximum allowable voltage and current retrieval. In the same way, it can be found on all types of controllers which are specified by the manufacturers. Brushless motors have a little bit to no maintenance required, and are faster than brushed motors.

Replacing New Nitro Engine for RC Tank

For RC tanks, the good running of a nitro engine is extremely important!

A new engine has always had a lot of compression. The cylinder of the engine is conical result by the motor to run in touching the piston and cylinder to each other worn so that a precise application arise the piston at the top of the cylinder very lightly. This means that the compression will be slightly reduced, however, it should in the process of catching up.

1. Fill the fuel tank by Nitro blend (usually 16%).
2. Bladder pump or the fuel hose is full to the carburetor. Remove the air filter and let a few drops of fuel into the intake air walk.
3. Set the glow plug connector on the glow plug and let it at least 15 sec for annealing.
4. Adjust the carburetor so that there is about a 1 mm slit in the air inlet is visible.
5. Pull the recoil starter with short powerful movements to motor start. Usually the engine will start after a few puffs and keep running. However, as the engine starts again then you can try with more or less gas to restart the engine. Once the engine is running you can remove glow plug connector.
6. Let your engine idle on the first tank.
7. Now wait, let your engine cool.

After these steps, you can safely run your Lamborghini diecast model car, but definitely not at full speed!
The manufacturer of the engine makes it "too fast" at the factory on behalf of the running in the engine. You can change your engine from your 5th fuel tank to adjust so that it will could run faster and better. Go through again from above engine adjustment tips, if you need any further adjustment for the engine.

Start with radio controlled tank

Always wanted to start a radio controlled tank hobby? On this article you will find basic information on RC tanks. It is important first to explore the offerings of the various controlled tanks before you buy one. Controlled tanks are also known as RC tanks mentioned. R / C stands for Radio Controlled.

Toy or model car
Controlled tanks come in different shapes and sizes. But there are clear differences between toy and model tanks. The toy versions are suitable for children, go much faster in a collision, do not make high speeds, the range is often limited to a few meters and there are often no spare parts for sale. However, the professional quality RC tanks and all components are sold separately in the shop.
An important choice for buying a radio tank is the type of engine you want to drive. You can choose from 3 different engines:
- Electric motor
- Nitro engine
- Petrol engine

With electric motors you another choice of an electric motor with or without carbon brushes (brushed and brushless). The advantage of a brushless motor is that it can achieve high speeds and is suitable for the abilities of a Li-poly battery pack. Also wear the brushes so that you do not and can not be replaced. RC electric tanks are great for beginners. It is a matter of battery packs charging, connecting and driving. The charging of these batteries, you can do best with a powerful multi-charger.

Features of nitro engines require patience and proper adjustment of the engine to drive a nitro RC tank properly. Before and after every ride with fuel engine requires attention. Many hobbyists misjudge on the keys. The disadvantage of RC boats that runs on nitro methane is that you always have to buy fuel to drive.

Using Gasoline Engines for RC Boat

Gasoline engines are also called lawn mower engines. Given the size and power of these engines they come only for the larger remote control boats. You must think of the scales 1:8, 1:7, 1:6, 1:5 and greater. These engines run on a mixture of petrol and Euro 95 2-stroke oil also called oil mixture. To find the right mix ratio you can use a handy container with print of the ratio. Like the nitro engines, gasoline engines require much attention before and after riding. This nitro fuel due to security reason may not be forwarded by mail. Also, the exhaust gases harmful to your health and produces a nitro boat much more noise than an electric boat.

If you choose on-board or off-board RC boats, it is wise to look in your area where you want to drive your RC boat. With a lake racer, you can only drive on a clean surface, preferably near house. A dirty lake may give the base damage; in this case a small lake is better place. Within the other segment, there are several models available in the shop: buggy, druggy, monster and crawler.

For beginners it is wise to start with a R2R/RTR (Ready to Run) model. These boats are almost ready-ready supplied with a remote, receiver and servos. If you already have a boat it is wise to choose an A2R/ATR (Almost Ready to Run), without a doubt these are without remote control supplied. The A2R models are already put together and are sometimes supplied with receiver and servos. The first RC boats were required to be built; diehard modelers put together the boat is still itself. By buying the boat as a kit, you will learn your boat to know about any failure better and to replace the spare parts easily yourself.

The starting procedure for model tank with a fuel engine

A general starting procedure for starting an internal combustion engine is described here, but always read the instructions of the supplier of your model RC tank.

(1) Place the tank on an increase or a block of wood so that all wheels are off the ground and the tank yet sturdy and stable.

(2) Turn on the transmitter first, then the receiver and servos in the tank. Check the operation of the receiver and servos and make sure that the trim controls on the remote control in the neutral position.

(3) Fill the tank with appropriate fuel

(4) Press the choke knob until the fuel reaches the carburetor. Or keep a finger on the outlet a few times while you quietly pull the starter cable pulls. As a result, the pressure in the outlet via the pressure hose pumps fuel to the carburetor.

(5) Connect the glow plug lighter with full battery

(6) Pull out a few times recently and forcefully to pull the starter cord a few seconds or press the start button on an electric start system.

(6a) If the engine fails to start, then the adjustment of the throttle servo trim a few clicks so that the throttle open a few millimeters, and repeat the procedure starting from step 5.

(7) If the engine is started, give some short bumps gas through the throttle on the remote control to the engine to warm up. To do this, from idle to half throttle, and do this two or three time.

(8) If the idle speed of diecast cars is stabilized, remove the glow plug lighter and possibly adjust the servo trim on the remote control back in the neutral position.

The stop / disable a fuel engine

A fuel engine can be disabled in several ways, one way is to remove the air filter and a finger on the hole in the carburetor again. The engine will get no more air and suffocating directly. Another way is closed by the pressing of the exhaust.
The Electrical Measures for RC Tanks

Electric motors for model RC tank are equipped with interference suppressor capacitors to interference at the transmitter and receiver equipment to prevent. The most common engine type model in scale 1:10 electric tanks is a '540-size engine. Other sizes are also available, and these are usually used in other classes scale. There are special motors available which have a very high level of performance. These engines are fully adjustable and adaptable, can be completely disassembled and tuned. The components of such high performance engines (such as the rotor, housing, brushes etc.) can be adapted, changed and replaced.

A '540-size electric Power supply

The most common power source for 1:10 electric powered model diecast cars are six-volume Ni-Cd and Ni-MH battery packs. Ni-CD stands for nickel and Ni-MH Cadnium means Nickel Metal Hydride. These battery packs consist of six battery cells of 1.2 volts, acting jointly in the pack 7.2 volt supply. These packs are often an indication as 7.2 V or 7.2 V-1.700mAh - 2.400mAh. The '7, 2V 'in the designation means that the battery pack voltage and 7.2 volts at the '1 .700' refers to the power in (milli) amps (i.e. capacity) of the battery. A higher capacity means longer travel time. The latest generation of Ni-MH rechargeable batteries reaches a capacity of more than 4.000mAh.

Charging the battery packs

There are two types of battery chargers for battery packs available for model cars: an AC charger and a DC charger. The first type chargers, AC chargers are powered from the mains, or with 230Volt. The other type, the DC chargers are powered by DC, such as a 12V car battery. A standard battery charger for battery packs of model cars takes about 4 to 8 hours to recharge a battery pack, depending on the capacity of the battery pack. The charging time depends on the maximum charging current of the charger.
Basic Knowledge: Model Tanks With a Fuel Engine

Modern radio controlled model RC tanks with a fuel engine offer the owner a lot of (technical) fun with the power and sound of a real engine adds an extra dimension to the speed and driving pleasure. Keep in mind that RC model tank with fuel engine is suitable only for drivers aged 14 and older.

The radio components

A modern fuel RC vehicle is generally equipped with a two-channel transmitter and receiver set, by which two separate servos can be controlled independently of each other. One servo controls the steering, and the other servo controls both the throttle and the brake. At the receiver, a 6volt battery pack attached for which the necessary power of the two servos and the receiver itself makes. Usually this is i.e. 6 V power from a rechargeable battery pack of five cells each 1.2 Volt battery or a battery holder with four AA batteries.

Requirements for starting a Double horse 9101 model fuel car

Above and beyond fuel, which is suitable for your type of fuel engine (a mixture of methanol, nitro methane and oil), there are a few other necessities for starting a fuel engine: a special glow plug battery, a glow plug heater / lighter with internal battery, oil filter, fuel filter and oil after run.

Two stroke engines, as used in the model cars, are well known for their easy and reliable operation, fuel and air are mixed in the carburetor, and the mixture is sucked in by the engine, compressed, and ignited by means of a glow plug. The "explosion" which is then above the piston is created by the crank shaft that is translated into a rotational movement, with which the vehicle is driven. A correct ratio of fuel and air is essential in this process.
Keep in mind that an outlet can be extremely hot, so you can burn yourself ugly. Another tried and in matches commonly used method is to stop the flywheel.
The Function of Carburetor in RC tank’s fuel engine

The carburetor used in RC tanks fuel engine, is that part of the engine where the fuel is mixed with air in the correct ratio and in which this mixture is sprayed. The throttle controls the total amount of fuel / air which is available for the engine. A fully open throttle drum will have more fuel / air mixture to flow to the engine, so that the engine speed will increase. The main jet needle controls the amount of fuel that must be mixed with the air, and with this needle, the mixture is adjusted to the correct ratio of fuel / air. Less fuel and more air means proportionally, and vice versa means more fuel to air ratio is less. This main jet needle can so the air / fuel ratio optimal adjustment.

The pre-heated glow plug ignites the compressed gases in the combustion chamber above the piston to be compressed, causing an explosion which as a result, makes arise the piston downwards. This piston movement then sets the crank shaft in a rotary movement. As a result of the flywheel effect and a counter weight, the piston will go back up and repeat the cycle. The glow plug will be after the start, after it has been so annealed for each of the above glow plug lighter, carry on to incandescence by the repeated combustion strokes of the piston. The same procedure is used in fuel engine of Double horse 9101 model cars.

The starting mechanism

The pull starter is a way to by hand start the engine and by pulling on a cord which to the rear of the engine is mounted. By time after time fast and concise at the start chorus to pull, the engine will start, if the carburetor a sufficiently good fuel / air mixture provides and a glow plug lighter with full battery on the glow plug is inserted, causing the glow plug when starting procedure optimal glow.

The e-start is an electric starter motor which externally, i.e. independent from the engine, with a special rod in a special starting mechanism placed at the rear of the motor. Pressing the button will start the electric motor drive mechanism, allowing the engine will start, subject to the same conditions as above are met.

A start box is a box type in which an electric starter motor with the drive wheel is mounted. When the flywheel of the engine used in RC tanks is pressed to start this wheel via the starter motor to start the motor flywheel, in other words to start the engine. It will start when provided carburetor and glow plug both are working in the approved manner. And the centrifugal clutch should not be removed.

The centrifugal clutch

A centrifugal clutch ensures that the motor will remain disconnected from the drive until a given speed has been reached. This prevents the Ferrari diecast car from starting to run immediately after it has been started, and ensures that one engine can continue to run without the wheels are driven. If the engine speed reaches the correct limit (by the throttle control) then it will engage the clutch and the power output of the engine being transmitted to the wheels.

The braking system

Like the "full size" cars, most fuel RC cars also have a braking system. The braking system of a model car has been connected to the throttle, if there is inhibited, the carburetor will completely close it. If gas is given, the brake system will become free. The brakes are put into place by the throttle on the remote past the center to withdraw.

Do not use the finger, any piece of wood or any piece of timber stop the flywheel. This will slow down the motor in order that it may cause to burn the motor almost immediately.
